6 Months!!!

My little baby is 6 months old! 6 months old!!! I can't believe it. He is growing up so fast. He had his 6 month well check today. He weighs 20 pounds and 13 ounces. He is still in the 95th percentile for his weight and off the charts for his length! He is a big boy and taking after his daddy. He is going to be tall, just like him! His pediatrician said that he can start eating more baby food and start having water and juice. He is such a big boy now! She also said that his left ear infection is all cleared up, but his right ear still doesn't look normal. She wants to check him again in a few weeks to make sure it all clears up!

He is growing up more and more everyday. He makes us laugh all the time. He smiles and laughs all the time. He loves his puppy and is constantly trying to pet Milo. He thinks it is so funny when Sean and Milo are playing and wants so bad to get on the floor and play with them. He is sitting up all by himself now with no support! He still can't crawl, but he gets around by scooting around on his butt. It is so cute. He loves most of his baby food, except the cereal and oatmeal. He is doing a little better with the oatmeal, as long as we put some peaches in it. Then it depends on the day, whether he likes it or not. He is so funny. He amazes us everyday! He needs to slow down! He is growing up too fast for me!

If you look closely at the picture above, you can see his little tooth poking through! My dad was lucky enough to get this shot! Thanks Dad!!

We Have Teeth!

My baby has a tooth! Can you believe it? A tooth! It is so adorable! I knew it was getting close because the last Dr. visit we had, our pediatrician said that it should be any time. I was curious earlier this week and so I felt around on his gums. And there it was, on the bottom gum. A little tooth poking through the gum. He hasn't been fussy, hasn't had a fever....all the signs they say accompanies the first tooth. Nothing....just a happy baby...as always. He won't let us see it though. Everytime we go to take a look, he closes his lips and turns his head away. It is actually pretty funny. The only way we can see it is if he is laughing. I really want to get a picture of it to post on here. I will keep trying and as soon as I get one, I will post it here!

I love my sweet potatoes! Yum!!

All done!

Even the container is yummy! :)

Round 2

That's right. We are on round #2...of double ear infections that is. I wasn't even going to take him in, but after talking to the nurse practitioner, decided to take him into night clinic. He is such a happy baby. He was never really fussy or anything. There were only a couple things that made me wonder if something was going on. The night before I took him, he was up almost every hour. Then when I took him into daycare, the daycare lady said that the day before he had a tantrum. He didn't want to be held or didn't want to eat. And Brayden not wanting to eat....something is definitely wrong! I am so glad that we ended up taking him in. She said that his ears were definitely infected. She went back and forth and whether to give him another round of antibiotics or giving him Rocephin, which is an injection. She opted for one more round of meds. We are now on day number 5 of the meds and I am not quite sure that they are working. He is still fussy and pulling on his right ear. I guess we will see what this week brings.

Here are a couple pictures from this past week. Despite everything, he is the happiest baby!

Pears....Yummy!

About a month and a half ago, at Brayden's 4 month well check, our pediatrician suggested we start cereal with Brayden. So, a few days later, I went out and got some rice cereal for him. As I mentioned in an earlier post, he would not have anything to do with it...and he still won't. Our pediatrician said that by his 6 month well visit, he should be eating about a half cup of cereal a day. Well...he isn't eating any...and his 6 month well visit is in two weeks. We have tried everything. Mixing it with breastmilk, apple juice, applesauce. We tried it from a spoon and in a bottle. It doesn't matter...he will not eat it. Last week, when he was so constipated, a friend suggested trying pears. We tried them and he didn't care for those either. But we kept up with it, as we did with the cereal, and now he loves pears! It takes him a second to get used to eating off the spoon, but once he gets going, we can't get it to his mouth fast enough! He loves his pears! Now if we could just get him to eat his cereal like that! Maybe that would help him start sleeping through the night! I would certainly love that!

Sick Again

Once again, our little guy is sick. It never fails. He finally gets better and then a few days later, he picks up something else. This time, it is a cold. Stuffy, runny nose and so congested. He gets so frustrated when he tries to eat. He has to keep taking breaks so he can catch his breath. He can't really have his pacifier for the same reason, he can't breath when he is sucking on it. Another issue the poor little guy has.....is constipation.Yup, hasn't had a dirty diaper since last Thursday!! My poor baby just can't catch a break. The pediatrician told us to try prune juice. Obviously she doesn't know Brayden well. That kid won't touch anything but formula or breastmilk. No matter how we try to give it to him...bottle...sippy cup...warm...cold...it doesn't matter. So, he makes another trip to the pediatrician tomorrow. We are definitey becoming regulars there! Hopefully we can get things cleared up soon!

Here are some pictures from this past weekend. We went to Grandma and Grandpa Fischer's house for lunch and to visit!
