Conner’s First Birthday!

One year ago today, our second son was born. What an amazing day! It is so hard for me to believe that a year has gone by already. It has been a year with many firsts, many laughs, some struggles, but most of all, one of the best years of our lives. Conner is an amazing little guy. He is always so happy, always smiling and laughing. He loves his older brother, loves laughing at him and chasing him around the house. He has a sweet tooth just like his Momma and looks exactly like his Daddy. He lights up our lives! Happy Birthday Little Man! You are loved so very much!

Early Summer?

Summer came early this year….at least for now. The days have been sunny and the temperatures have been awful close to 80 degrees! We have been loving every second of it and spending all our days outside. I think there is going to be a couple very unhappy boys (and parents) if winter comes back! Let’s hope this really is the beginning of our summer!!

My Silly Boy

Conner has a thing for putting stuff on his head or around his neck. Everything that can or will goes on his head. It is so funny. I had to take pictures of all his latest antics.

The Big Day

The day has come and gone. Last Thursday we went in to the hospital for the second time...this time with Conner. After another persistant ear infection, surgery was scheduled. We had to be at the hospital at 6:00am. An early morning for all of us!! Conner couldn't eat for 6 hours prior, which I was really worried about. He did great for that part! Once we got to the hospital, we had to sit around and wait...for 2 hours before his surgery. This part was interesting. We played with toys, read books, watched the Disney channel, went for walks, charmed the nurses, etc. Anything to keep the little guy busy. Around 8:00, we got to meet the anesthesiologist, and the doctor and nurse came for him. Conner and I both did surprising well as they took him away. The next twenty minutes seemed to last an eternity. Soon the doctor reappeared and said the surgery went great and there was no active infection. After that sentance, I didn't hear a word he said because I heard my baby screaming as they were bringing him back to us. The nurse walked in the room with him and I couldn't get to him fast enough. I took him in my arms and was able to feed him and got him to settle down. About an hour later, they discharged us. We got Conner buckled up in his car seat and we were even out of the drive at the hospital and he was out. Sean and I went out for breakfast and out to look for new furniture and Conner never moved or woke up the entire time. After he woke up, he was good to go! We are all so glad that is over and are very ready for him to be ear infection free! Yay!!

Deja vu?

Here we go again. This time...with Conner. Over the last 3 months, he has had 4 ear infections. We visited the ENT a couple weeks again and at the time, his ears looked perfect. We put off the surgery for tubes since they were looking so good. He said that if he gets another one in the next 6 weeks, we would need to call and schedule the surgery. We were doing so good for a couple weeks. Then he started tugging on his ears. It would last for a day or so and then he would be fine for a couple days. I finally decided to take him and wouldn't you know it...another ear infection. My poor baby. He just can't catch a break. Now the poor thing has to get tubes. I know it will make him better in the long, but the thought just breaks my heart. Now I just want it over with, for him to be better. He is such a happy baby. I hate seeing him so fussy. This time around happened much faster. With Brayden, he was 14 months before they finally decided to do the tubes. Conner is only 9 months. No messing around this time. Before we know it, we will have a happy, healthy baby again!

My Oh My!

I know, I know....I am a blogger slacker!! I am horrible! I am so far behind on everything! My house is a mess, I haven't started Christmas shopping, I haven't even thought about Christmas cards, I haven't blogged in like 2 months...I haven't even taken any pictures in forever! These two precious boys of mine are taking up all my time! Let's see....what is new....

Conner is mobile! I don't know if I am ready for this! I have my hands full running after Brayden and now I have Conner on the move too! Gone are the days when I can sit him down to play and he will be in the same spot 20 minutes later. Now I barely have him down on the ground and he is crawling off. For the longest time, he could only figure out how to crawl backwards. :) Just the last couple days he has figured out how to go forward! He is "talking" up a storm and his big brother can make him laugh big belly laughs.

Brayden is growing up before our eyes. The things he comes up with just blow my mind. He is so smart! The other day he saw a tall radio tower and wanted to know if it was the Eiffel Tower! I don't even know where he learned that!! He is SUPER active and loves to be running around playing soccer or baseball. He loves his little brother and loves making him laugh. He has some listening issues...but I think it is more selective hearing than anything! :) He is a heartbreaker and from what we hear, he has all the female teachers at daycare wrapped around his little finger!

These boys are keeping us busy, but we are loving every minute of it!! Here are some pictures from our pumpkin carving night.

6 months and counting....

It seems like lately whenever I post a blog, it is always about one of my boys being another year or month older. This year is just flying by. And since we are super busy all the time, it doesn't help the situation. Today my baby turns 6 months old; a half a year. 6 months ago, I was in the hospital holding my precious newborn baby boy. Today he is the happiest, smileist baby ever. He is growing up so fast. He used to love being held and now he just wants to get down and play. I used to be able to hold his bottle at night while I fed him. Now he insists on holding it himself. He is eating cereal and baby food now instead of just milk. He is sitting up on his own and rolling over and over and over. Tomorrow is his 6 month well check at the pediatrician and I can't wait to see how big he is getting! I can't wait to see what the next 6 months brings. Keep growing big and strong little man. Your mommy, daddy, and big brother love you so very much!

3 Years Old!

Today my baby turns 3. Unbelievable! I know everyone says this, but the time has gone by so fast. Seems like yesterday I was pregnant for the first time and we were anxiously planning his arrival. Three years later, I have the sweetest, kindest little boy who is the best big brother.
He has grown up so much in the past year. From a little boy to a smart, funny, sensitive boy. He loves being outside, loves his family, and loves being busy!
I am so excited to see how he continues to grow. Happy Birthday Little Man! You are the light of our lives! We love you!!

5 Months Old Already!

Today my baby turns 5 months old. I know everyone always says how fast time flies, but you don't really realize it until you have kids. They grow up way too fast. This is such a fun time though.

This month, we had lots of firsts. He rolled over. He ate cereal. He had his first real belly laugh. He is such a happy baby. Always smiling, always giggling. He lights up everyone's life. He is a big fan of his big brother, constantly watching him and wanting to go play with him. Those two are going to be best buds! I can't wait to see how they grow!

Happy 5 month little man!! We love you more than words can say!!

Pick Me! Pick Me!

So there is this photographer, Brittani Renee, and her work is AMAZING!! I have always admired the photographs she takes and have always wanted our pictures taken by her. When Brayden was born, the money just wasn't there to spend on a photography session. The same when Conner was born. So when an opportunity came up to possibly win a free session by her, I was ecstatic! When I learned what the details were, I was a little deflated. You had to write a story, any story, and why you wanted the session. Then people vote to pick the best story. The first thought in my mind was that I had the perfect life....2 happy and healthy boys, a loving husband, a good job, a new home. I didn't know what I would write about to make people vote for my story. Unbeknownst to me, my sister knew how much I wanted our pictures taken by Brittani and knew my hesitation on writing a story. So she wrote up a story and submitted it for me. The story made me cry. My sister is amazing! So now we need your votes!!! I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to win this, so please help me out!!! Here is what you need to do:
1.) Go to Brittani Renee Photography facebook page and "Like" it.
2.) Click on this link and select the picture of my family. Read the wonderful story my sister wrote for me and then at the bottom, click "Like." That gives me a vote!
3.) Share this with all of your family and friends and help me win this contest!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
