Conner’s First Birthday!

One year ago today, our second son was born. What an amazing day! It is so hard for me to believe that a year has gone by already. It has been a year with many firsts, many laughs, some struggles, but most of all, one of the best years of our lives. Conner is an amazing little guy. He is always so happy, always smiling and laughing. He loves his older brother, loves laughing at him and chasing him around the house. He has a sweet tooth just like his Momma and looks exactly like his Daddy. He lights up our lives! Happy Birthday Little Man! You are loved so very much!

Early Summer?

Summer came early this year….at least for now. The days have been sunny and the temperatures have been awful close to 80 degrees! We have been loving every second of it and spending all our days outside. I think there is going to be a couple very unhappy boys (and parents) if winter comes back! Let’s hope this really is the beginning of our summer!!

My Silly Boy

Conner has a thing for putting stuff on his head or around his neck. Everything that can or will goes on his head. It is so funny. I had to take pictures of all his latest antics.

The Big Day

The day has come and gone. Last Thursday we went in to the hospital for the second time...this time with Conner. After another persistant ear infection, surgery was scheduled. We had to be at the hospital at 6:00am. An early morning for all of us!! Conner couldn't eat for 6 hours prior, which I was really worried about. He did great for that part! Once we got to the hospital, we had to sit around and wait...for 2 hours before his surgery. This part was interesting. We played with toys, read books, watched the Disney channel, went for walks, charmed the nurses, etc. Anything to keep the little guy busy. Around 8:00, we got to meet the anesthesiologist, and the doctor and nurse came for him. Conner and I both did surprising well as they took him away. The next twenty minutes seemed to last an eternity. Soon the doctor reappeared and said the surgery went great and there was no active infection. After that sentance, I didn't hear a word he said because I heard my baby screaming as they were bringing him back to us. The nurse walked in the room with him and I couldn't get to him fast enough. I took him in my arms and was able to feed him and got him to settle down. About an hour later, they discharged us. We got Conner buckled up in his car seat and we were even out of the drive at the hospital and he was out. Sean and I went out for breakfast and out to look for new furniture and Conner never moved or woke up the entire time. After he woke up, he was good to go! We are all so glad that is over and are very ready for him to be ear infection free! Yay!!

Deja vu?

Here we go again. This time...with Conner. Over the last 3 months, he has had 4 ear infections. We visited the ENT a couple weeks again and at the time, his ears looked perfect. We put off the surgery for tubes since they were looking so good. He said that if he gets another one in the next 6 weeks, we would need to call and schedule the surgery. We were doing so good for a couple weeks. Then he started tugging on his ears. It would last for a day or so and then he would be fine for a couple days. I finally decided to take him and wouldn't you know it...another ear infection. My poor baby. He just can't catch a break. Now the poor thing has to get tubes. I know it will make him better in the long, but the thought just breaks my heart. Now I just want it over with, for him to be better. He is such a happy baby. I hate seeing him so fussy. This time around happened much faster. With Brayden, he was 14 months before they finally decided to do the tubes. Conner is only 9 months. No messing around this time. Before we know it, we will have a happy, healthy baby again!
